Queen for a day... part 2

Hi guys,
as promised, this is part 2......underneath below is picture of my nuptials... this is located at moonlight bistro.... i wanted a winter theme so the decorator made all the decor white in color.. she also added trees without leaves and painted them white so they look like winter birch...

i love the ethereal feel of the decor

anyways i'll be moving on to my second dress which i wore during my reception.. i took away the sash and wore an embellished belt instead...
awww look at hubby, aint he adorable...
btw, you might not know from the picture... but that dress was freakin HEAVY, it was like a workout for my legs.. lol .... there's a trick to it though... you have to kick the dress when you walk to take some of the weight off.... but then if you overdo it.. you'll look like you'll playing soccer with your dress.. hahaha... and some of you might ask... how could u stand wearing heels all day and not get tired??? well i didn't... i *cheated* lol... I was wearing platform sandals the whole time since i thought that you can't see underneath the dress anyways..... that was my not so Cinderella moment.....

I decided to wear a veil during the reception even though it's super bothersome(i think more than 20 people stepped on my veil that night) . It feels more old fashioned that way. A veil is what sets a bride apart from other gown wearing guests during a wedding.

I decided to wear a tiara because it's probably the only time i can wear one. I decided to keep the rest of my hair simple, i put it up in a french twist and that was it. I didn't want to have a tall hair because i have a big head, it will simply make my head look bigger... lol...

Tobey falling asleep on my lap
There is one important detail i forgot to mention... Those who know me very well knows that i have a loyal k9 companion that is very dear to my heart..... He's a shih tzu / jap chin mix named tobey... I wanted him to be a part of the wedding but the venue doesn't allow live animals.. So i took him to the bridal salon, made him wear a tux and took pictures with him... look how adorable he looks... I actually went to the salon at 3am to get my makeup done.. I had to drag him out of his bed.. he was still very very sleepy...sorry tobey..

probably the only time i will be in a magazine ... lol

My wedding got featured on Harper's Baazar wedding edition... My photographer Stanley Alan from PPF does a lot of photoshoot for them. He submitted my photos and they got picked... yayyyy !! as you can imagine i was very excited.. i've never been in a magazine before. I was surprised that they picked mine because there are a lot of better and bigger weddings than  mine. A friend mentioned that  tobey must be the reason that they picked our wedding. Look at the article, Tobey got a BIGGER space than me, so maybe she's right... hahahaha *thanks for stealing my spotlight tobey*... lol...

The details of the wedding is very important to me as they make my wedding unique. I wanted people to know that i put a lot of effort into the wedding and not just leave everything to the EO. Small details make  weddings look polished and guests feel appreciated.. I actually designed my own logo, by "design" i actually meant "stole a design" from the internet.. hahaha....

The wedding invitation, the menu , napkin holder, glass holder, photo corner background and the souvenirs all have this logo.

the menu included the logo

so does the photo corner.... notice the background also has repeating patterns of the logo... on the right is a cutout picture of hubby and me, so guests can take a picture with "us" even though we're not really there..

I wanted a red carpet laid out similar to the red carpet found in movie premieres so guests would feel like celebrities coming in... but the reception hall has no red carpets, so i had to settle with *that* hahahaha (look at the picture above)...

I wanted the reception to look classy and somber, the same ambiance , tone and mood you would have if you were fine dining. Hence i told the decorator to add crystal lamps... it adds just the right amount of glamour to it. I also removed the lazy susan(that round glass thing you put on the table so that people can turn it around to get their food). I thought lazy suzans are unclassy and remind me of Chinese restaurants. I told the servers to serve each course right on front of the guests instead.
the tables during the reception included a crystal lamp centerpiece and a silver table runner.. and NO lazy susans...

the main table,. this is where the bride and groom and important family members sit....the centerpieces include the tall candelabras and fresh flowers

the centerpieces were a mix between the crystal chandeliers and glassvases filled with blue water....
the souvenirs aka wedding favours include a wine glass with the logo and a wrapped towel  resembling a champagne bottle...

Few people truly know how much effort i put into this wedding, but it doesn't matter if they don't. I am satisfied with how things turn out that night (although there are things that i wish i can change)...Budget was a major thing, as i had a strict budget to work with..... My husband's family is from Medan , u know *wink(it's okay if you don't get the joke) hahahahahaha

I was really tired having to get up at 3 am but i made sure to enjoy every moment because i know the day would be gone in the blink of an eye!...

On the other hand, my hubby didn't really enjoy it... he was extremely tired, he said he'd never wanted to go through this again and he found it super bothersome... after the night ended he laid down face flat on the bed and *passed out* till the next morning.. lol

I'll leave this post with a few pictures....
my maid of honor and I. She's a celebrity now, can you guess who she is?? ;)

one of my favourite photos

sorry if this post is a bit boring, it's because my good friend's sister  passed away yesterday and it effected my mood.. I also heard about the elementary school shooting in Conneticut, being a mom myself i cannot imagine what those parents (and kids)went through.. but anyways i don't really want to talk about it....

Anyways, have a great day....and stay safe... hug your loved ones and be thankful that they're still there....

todeloo
xoxo
