bridezilla? moi??? no way... |
Actually... the funny thing is... i have a friend(which name i will not mention) who worked as an editor for the show "bridezilla".. He even showed me around his office during my trip to los angeles...Anyways.. when he knew i was getting married, he asked if i wanted to be featured on the show..he said my personality would be perfect for the show.. *side-eye*.. Of course i didn't know whether i should take it as a compliment or an insult...lol... He said i will get paid around $3000 . I'm thinking.. 3000 dollars for your dignity to be destroyed.... maybe $1 million.. but 3 grand??? no way... lol
then i saw it..... the dress was put on a mannequin, it wasn't put on the rack like the other dresses....i had an *ahhh* moment... i knew i had to try the dress on...
This was actually the dress on my wedding day... i made some modifications to it... i added the flower sash on my shoulder to make it more interesting....
why did i fall in love with this dress?
1)because it had a textured skirt... i find it to be more elegant and interesting
2)because it had a sash
3)becase it had a sweetheart neckline.....
#2 and #3 came from watching.............*drumroll please*
BRIDE WARS!!!!! staring Kate Hudson..lol
It had all the classic elements with a modern twist because of the sash and the drop waist(the skirt coming out from underneath the hip area.. vs the skirt coming waist line)
I was able to modify the dress to provide a 2 dinstinct look, one for day (for my nuptials) and one for the reception....
For the daytime look i added the flower sash and took away the belt(or else it would be too much).. it gives me a more innocent look...i wanted an interesting headpiece so i added the birdcage headpiece(it also gives me a retro kinda look).... can you guess what inspired the hairstyle and the hairpiece????
It was susan storm's hairstyle during the wedding..... lollllll.....
anyways this post is getting too long, i think i'll stop here .. i'll write part 2 tommorow...

The first thing that came into my mind was the dress, the dress, the dress!!!.. my head was floating in an ocean full of ideas and dress styles... it is SO unfair that we only get to pick 1 dress to wear for our wedding day..,. why can't we wear like 10 dresses????it's the only day where we get to dress like a princess and be looked at in a weird way.. well...... that and halloween of course... :p
I was fighting between picking a mermaid style gown and a ball gown, but i thought.. i could wear mermaid style dress to another person's party... but i probably can't wear a full out ball gown in my life ever again...so off i go to find the perfect dress...

I've always wanted to purchase my wedding dress,(vera wang anyone?) but my mom was against it.. she said it'd be a waste of money to buy a gown that would probably cost an arm and a leg.. and only be able to use it once... she has a point... so off i go to this bridal place....
I tried on a couple of dresses and it didn't give me any magical "butterflies in the stomach" or any euphoric kind of feeling.. and then i saw a couple of girls.. going up the stairs into the second floor... so i asked my sales associate "are there more dresses upstairs?" to which she replied"yes, but those are the couture collection, they cost a bit more"....*insert side-eye here*
